As an Elite Personal Trainer, I am always striving to push the boundaries – experimenting, and developing new ideas, positions, exercises, and movements. Having addressed all the major issues that the whole world is continually getting wrong and having modified so many traditional staple exercises to make them safer and more productive, my next challenge has been to incorporate the enormous array of exercises, positions, stretches and stability exercises that have been, and still are, completely missing in almost everyone’s exercise regimes.
I have used, tried, and tested these missing ingredients with hundreds of my clients over many decades, and it has shown me, and more importantly proven to them, that these missing components are vital to produce fast efficient, well-balanced results. If you are a regular exerciser, or follow a so-called exercise specialist, or even have your own coach or personal trainer, ask yourself the following questions – are you doing balance training, compound movements, muscle endurance work, speed training, some Pilates or yoga movements?, plyometric work, dynamic stretching or any spinal work?, and have you ever even heard of proprioception exercises, muscle activation exercises, nerve stretching / flossing or gliding, postural training, skeletal mobility movements, eccentric or isometric muscle contraction exercises, rotator cuff work, sarco-iliac joint or ilio-tibial band exercises?, and what about hip, knee, spine, neck, and shoulder, physiotherapy based, stability exercises and movements?.
My years of experience have shown me that the vast majority of individuals, regular/experienced exercisers, and even elite athletes are NOT including many of these vital missing ingredients and components, in their training. Missing out on these crucial components explains so mush of why the world is full of back pain, and why so many people get knee pain or hip pain or neck or shoulder discomfort, after so many exercises, and why there exists a significant reliance on pain medication. Are these missing components holding YOU back. The answer is definitely YES.
The body is quite remarkable at ironing out problems and rectifying a multitude of issues, but only when we give it the correct, varied, and balanced exercises. It is really important that you understand and realise the enormous influence, the power almost, that correct, varied, balanced and well executed exercises can have on re-balancing the whole of the human body. But we must encourage it, nurse it and smoother it in beautifully well-crafted, well-oiled varied and fluid exercises and movements. When we do this, it will respond like never before, banishing all your niggles, aches, and pains, bullet-proofing your musculoskeletal system, allowing the whole body to flourish and produce unbelievable results.
